Will Jack Bauer ever make it to the Big Screen?

If you were a fan of the hit thriller TV series 24 (2001-2010) like me, you're probably hoping that we haven't seen the last of CTU (Counter Terrorist Unit) agent Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland). 24 was unique and awesome in its own way. Each season revolved around the course of 24 hours, hence the name, with each episode covering one hour. For Eight thrilling seasons we saw Jack Bauer and his CTU colleagues fighting terrorist attacks, government corruption, cyber attacks, biological attacks, betrayals, and nuclear threats. One heck of day!

Now, with the series being over, there has been confirmation about a 24 feature film follow-up. That's the good news, the bad news is when it will see the light of day (no pun intended). The plot of the movie would once again follow Jack Bauer over the course of 24 hours except this time it's supposed to be a two hour representation of a 24 hour day. Sounds difficult to pull off but plausible. Recently, a script for the film adapation was handed in by screen writer Billy Ray but it was turned down by FOX executives. So, once again the film is up in limbo.

I have a bad feeling it may be stuck in development hell...hopefully I'm wrong. But until we see or hear anything new about the 24 film, we can always relive Jack Bauer's adventures on DVD.

Four Fantastic Super Films Forthcoming!

For seven decades now, there have been several super hero film adaptations ranging in a wide variety from Superman to Batman to Hellboy to The Fantastic Four. But since the early 2000's, super hero flicks have been on the rise. Whether it be for super box office numbers, fan demand, or for some super character to look up to in these trying times. Whatever the reason, this movie goer is not complaining one bit.

Here we are in 2011, and not only have the heroes not lost their powers with fans and the film industry they seem to be having more and more franchise adventures than before! With that being said, we have FOUR big super hero cinematic adventures coming this year alone! Honestly, I can't decide which one I'm more excited for...

2011- The Year of the Sequels!

While I was looking up some upcoming films for this year, I couldn't help but notice that many of them were in fact sequels. It's very common for Hollywood to produce numerous sequels, prequels, and remakes whether they need to or not. Money, Money, Money is usually the mastermind behind this. This usually leads to the old saying "...sequels never live up to the original". Which in most cases is generally true. However, some sequels have surpassed their predecessors in critical and financial terms like The Dark Knight, Terminator 2, Toy Story 2 & 3, Lord of the Rings 2 & 3, The Godfather Part II, etc.

Anyway, as I was saying earlier, TONS of sequels are coming out this year and I must admit I'm very excited. Here is a list of sequels, along with the release dates, coming out this year in case you want to check out some of them:

Scream 4- April 15
Fast Five( Fast and the Furious) - April 29
Hoodwinked Too- April 29
Pirates of the Caribbean 4- May 20
The Hangover Part II- May 26
Kung Fu Panda 2 - May 26
Cars 2- June 24
Transformers 3- July 1
Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows Part II- July 15

Paranormal Activity 3- October 21
Happy Feet 2- November 18
Twilight: Breaking Dawn Pt. 1- November 18
